L’Oreal’s partnership with the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund

The Opportunity

L’Oreal has a commitment to ensure people suffering from illness have access to beauty and well-being to help them keep up their fighting spirit and self-esteem. The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund was founded in 1994 by Sol Schreiber to honour the memory of his wife, Ann, who lost her five-year battle with ovarian cancer.

The Solution

Colour is at the heart of what L’Oreal does, and The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund’s signature colour, mauve, is a colour close to the heart of the brand’s mainstay products of lip colour, eye shadow blush and nail enamel. This partnership resulted in a limited edition collection titled “Color of Hope”, a collection of cosmetics in a universally flattering shade of mauve, with 10% of sales proceeds going directly to OCRF.

The Impact

This enduring partnership with the OCRF has raised more than $4 million to fight this deadly disease, helping the foundation fund research for a cure, promoting early diagnostic treatment programs, providing outreach as well as raising public awareness for ovarian cancer.
